Sun Outdoors San Diego Bay is a new resort (2021) in Chula Vista, CA. Few may know it was originally named it Costa Vista RV Resort but they changed the name. It has 197 RV sites and 49 Cottages. The RV sites have full hookups, accommodate rigs up to 45’ and have tables and chairs, a fire pit with 4 Adirondack chairs. The cottages are 1-2 bedroom and can accommodate up to 6 people, and some of them are bay view.

Sweetwater Bike and walking paths are new and connect to Bayfront Park which is about 1 mile from the resort. The bike path is paved with 2 lanes and the walking path is soft dirt/gravel and there were beautiful flowers all around

The Living Coast Discovery Center is right next door. It’s walking distance but they ask you to use the free shuttle which comes to the resort every 15 mins. We had a great visit there and loved seeing the reptiles, birds, and fish. There’s also lots of other activities and things to see in the area. We went to the nearby historic Train Depot and the Marina for lunch.

They have a full schedule of events with something going on nearly every day/night. On the Saturday night we were there they had a fun nighttime bike ride through the park with their bikes all lit up. I believe the resort provided the bike lights complimentary.

It’s definitely a pricey RV park, but they do occasionally offer specials, and discounts to military.
