I’ve been to several of Disneyland’s birthdays, including the 50th when I arrived at 5:00 AM to celebrate all the magic (that’s a story in and of itself!), then again for the next birthday in 2006 when a hot air balloon flew over the esplanade!

Yes, the Mickey Mouse Hot Air Balloon made an appearance at Disneyland’s for the park’s 51st Anniversary on July 17, 2006. The balloon toured the U.S. making special appearances and this was the kick-off of the tour.

Look closely at the pic above. See how the trees in the background are perfectly positioned to look like Mickey’s eyebrows? 😊🥰
